Making quota

Normally, when I write, I have a plan. In this case I don't... well I do but it's not thought out. I'm just keeping my once a month blog posting alive.

So I'm a college man now... yay... I don't know. I'm enrolled at Seneca college with Journalism Broadcasting as the thing I'm learning. I'm sorry, I don't know the proper terms. Anyways, it's interesting. A lot of it is more learning the mechanics of what/how I would be working with instead of learning what journalism exactly is. Which is fine... for now.

Probably something I knew I was going to have a hard time doing was socializing with the other students. Anyone who knows me knows that I have a real hard time talking to people I don't know. I don't know why... well I know why, but I guess I'm that reserved type? A lot of it just comes down to is my un-comprehension of how someone can just talk to anyone. I actually had a conversation with someone who talks a lot. It kept coming down to the questions of "How can you just not say something?" and in return I said "How can you just say anything?" at which point a stalemate was drawn, and would be settled via hungry hungry hippo's at a later date. But to say I'm the same quiet person I was in High school is not true. I do seem to talk more often. Though I don't really know why... well I do, but its probably not that.

....Before this becomes a self loathing post about how I can't properly socialize and how everyone should feel sorry for me, let's change directions.

One thing I was utterly afraid of was an age gap. I've been out of school for years... lot's of years. I'm 23 (24 this year) and I just started to do this college thing. All my life, I've been told that right after High school, you either move on to a higher education, or start working in the workforce. So being in the situation I'm in, I was shit scared that I would be surrounded by either fresh off high-school students or older people because they need to re-educate themselves (I saw it in Boy Meets world where a security guard was in college or something). To my pleasure there are people much like me. I should have remembered that classes did start during the summer. So technically those kids are still in school. Though I did hear one person say they were born in 91... which is like four years before my nephew was born.

Overall I'm having fun going back into homework mode and such. Its been interesting so far, and I'm in it for a full year or so.
